Key Largo Wedding at Dream Bay Resort - Florida

How do you slow things down on your wedding day?  You head down south to the Florida Keys where it is mandatory to get a little sand in your toes and just lay back and savor the experience.  This is exactly what Natalie and Lenny did for their wedding celebration!  They planned an intimate Keys wedding in Key Largo that fully embraced the palm trees, seaside calm and overall island feel.  Their wedding was a mini vacation from the hustle and bustle of the main land where everyone involved was treated to an evening of love, laughter, great food/booze and dancing!

We loved everything about this wedding beginning with Natalie and Lenny.  Two amazing and selfless individuals - she is a nurse and he is a firefighter - we can’t think of a more deserving couple than these two.  The whole event was perfect from the moment we arrived at Dream Bay Resort where all the festivities took place.  Natalie and Lenny decided to do what many couples do in order to take advantage of the beautiful setting.  They had a first look right on the dock by the water (their fur baby even came along for the fun!)  She looked stunning in her simple yet chic wedding dress with flowers in her hair.  Let’s not forget about the groom - he totally pulled off the guayabera and khakis - the quintessential look for an island wedding. They both looked great and we were thrilled to catch the moment they saw each other for the first time!  It was so sweet and romantic.  Opting for the first look gave us the opportunity to take the couple around the property and capture the two of them before their guests arrived.

The wedding ceremony was held under an arch overlooking the ocean.  And as the sun began to set, the two said their “I do’s” in a very intimate and personal ceremony surrounded by close friends and family.  With a list of family members in hand, we were able to quickly capture the formal family photos right before we whisked the couple away to take advantage of the beautiful sunset lighting.  This was the last time in the night we commanded their attention as the rest of the evening we were there to discreetly capture their story - And what a story!

When it comes to wedding photography, we are always in search of the perfect light.  Lighting situations are not always ideal so we need to think fast to compensate.  In this case, we were gifted with beautiful lighting from the bistro lights carefully hung over the dance floor.  The lighting coupled with the swaying palm trees framing the couple was a dream scenario for us to capture their first dance.  The scene was oh so romantic!

Following the toasts, guests got to enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared paella.  A signature sangria was all it took to give some guests the courage to dance the night away under the stars.  And as previously mentioned, a bit of sand between the toes was in order for Natalie and Lenny’s perfect beach wedding!  Please join us in wishing them a lifetime of joy.
