Winter Break from a few years back!

In between editing and planning for our upcoming weddings and holiday sessions, Santy and I have been making plans of our own for this year's Winter getaway.  Every year since we met, we have traveled out of town during this time and this year will be no different.  It's fun to make these memories and of course take lots and lots of pictures! This blog is dedicated to our 2014 Winter trip.

We started this fun road trip in Amelia Island, located right off the coast of Northeast Florida.  This barrier island has all the charm you would expect from a historic town and one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited.  After dining and a little shopping, we took it back to 1864 with a visit to the historic Fort Clinch as soldiers reenact life during the Civil War. Bobby had a blast exploring all the rooms and chambers!

Next stop - Hilton Head, SC.  A few years back we became Disney Vacation Club Members and just love staying at the DVC resorts.  There is always something for kids to do for fun while also providing serenity for the adults.  Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort provided the best of both. It was a great stay on the path to the following stop.

Our adventure took us north to Boone, NC where I reunited with my sister and her adorable family.  They also drove all the way from Tampa, FL to meet us.  It's always fun to spend time with loved ones! Being Florida natives, I recall the cold weather being slightly over our comfort level - but that did not stop us from having some fun!  Once there, we all did a bit of exploring of our own by visiting the majestic Grandfather Mountain!  Grandfather Mountain has been an icon in North Carolina’s landscape for generations, offering stunning scenery and unmatched ecological diversity. Here you can see that we were extra brave and crossed the mile-high swinging bridge - not a small feat for anyone that fears heights!  Leaving this area took us on a sightseeing drive through the famous Blue Ridge Parkway that was simply breathtaking.

If you are up in North Carolina, don't forget to check out Blowing Rock.  It is a neat little town that makes you feel like you are in Europe. The stunning views you get from the actual blowing rock will take your breath away while enticing to explore the surrounding mountain’ trails and waterfalls. Such a fun experience!

We love capturing your most precious moments - we've made it our business to do so! But we also love creating our own memories with our loved ones.  Spending time with family was the best part of the trip!  We hope you enjoy this peek into our life.  Now back to planning this year's vacation...
